Our Human rights based approach

Human Rights Based Approach:  In order to overcome the legacy of apartheid that continued to linger on after the official demise of apartheid in 1994, ECP saw a need to change tack and introduce a Human Rights Based Approach for Development in its Programming.  The idea is to close the gap through social justice programmes and thus bring about fairness and equality for all.  There has to be equal access to socio-economic opportunities for all.  Democracy has to work for everyone and not just for a select few.  This would mean tackling corruption, injustices and complacency from every angle.  Targeting the source of the problem will lead to long lasting solutions.  The outcomes are not easily realised in a short while but are more likely to be permanent in the long run.
